Art 101

Art History and Appreciation - This is a comprehensive art course with a history and hands on method to draw and paint according to the students desire and talent. Students will receive credit for Art 101.

Upon successful completion of Art 101, students will be able to:

1. Define visual elements and design principles and possess a vocabulary relative to the visual arts.
2. Identify different art making processes and media.
3. Identify works of art from different historical movements.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of historical and aesthetic concerns through class discussion and writing about works of art.
5. Critically evaluate works of art and articulate personal responses to art works.
