Welcome to MASC!
A co-operative organization for support, educational opportunities, and social activities of academically-minded homeschool teens and their families. A co-operative is an organization jointly managed by those who use its services and share in its benefits. We expect all member families to participate by teaching classes and/ or offering activities and field trips for the group.
MASC is a thriving homeschool community for teens and their families. We establish ourselves on the values of respect, compassion, acceptance, and tolerance toward others.
MASC is open to homeschooled teens in Charlotte/Matthews, NC area, including Mecklenberg, Union, and other surrounding counties. We welcome members who are willing to uphold the values of the group, regardless of reasons for homeschooling, ethnicity, religious, or political affiliations.
We meet onsite at a church in Matthews on Monday afternoons for enrichment classes. We offer a collection of interesting courses ranging from traditional academic enrichment (ex. Gavel Club, Science Labs, Test Prep, etc) to alternative and specific interest (ex. Art, Programming, Team Challenge, etc.). In addition a few 'clubs' occasionally meet offsite - Newspaper Club, Film Club, and more.
Social interaction and fun are a part of MASC! Members lead a wide assortment of get-togethers such as scavenger hunts, museum visits, community participation, and camping.
